    What Does P0107 Mean?

OBD-II Code P0107 is defined as a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input

The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold. This provides critical data needed for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control the Air Fuel Ratio, the Ignition Spark Timing and many components of the Emission Control Systems.

Code P0107 sets when the voltage to the PCM from the MAP/Baro Sensor Circuit stays under .5 volts for 10 seconds or more when the values from the Throttle Position, RPM and Oxygen sensors are changing.

What are the common causes of P0107 ?

    • Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
    • Manifold Absolute Pressure harness is open or shorted
    • Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit poor electrical connection
    • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
What are the symptoms of P0107 ?

Symptoms of a P0107 diagnostic trouble code may include:
    • Cherry red hot catalytic converter
    • Poor acceleration
    • The light may stay on or light intermittently as the DPF regenerates. The engine will be sluggish on acceleration.
    • Reduction in engine performance, especially at low RPM levels
How do you troubleshoot P0107 ?

The most common repairs to address the P0107 code are as follows:
    • Verify the code with an OBD-II scanner. Reset the fault codes and then perform a road test.
    • If the P0107 code comes back, then follow the test procedure.
    • Check the MAP sensor voltage in and out along with the electrical connector and wiring. Disconnect the electrical connector and then reinstall to ensure a fresh and clean electrical connection. Then check the voltage output on the MAP sensor to see if it is in the correct range.
    • At this point determine if the MAP sensor is defective and if it has no or incorrect output, then replace the sensor. If all checks are good, then a final test to determine if the ECU is bad must be done.
