    What Does P0167 Mean?

An oxygen sensor for a one particular engine bank has delivered a voltage signal that is not within the accepted parameters, causing the PCM to store a trouble code and possibly illuminate the service engine soon light. Bank 2 typically denotes the engine bank of the engine block that does not contain the number 1 cylinder. S2 tells you that the fault is found in sensor 2, or the downstream sensor (aft of the catalytic converter/s).

What are the common causes of P0167 ?

To sum things up, the common causes for code P0167 are as follows:
    • Problem on the ground side of the O2 sensor heater circuit
    • Problem on the power side of the O2 sensor heater circuit
    • O2 sensor heater element has high resistance
    • O2 sensor heater element has an open circuit
What are the symptoms of P0167 ?

The only thing you will notice is an illuminated check engine light on your dashboard. If you live in a place that requires emissions testing, the check engine light will cause you to fail.

How do you troubleshoot P0167 ?
    • Replacing the oxygen sensor
    • Repairing wiring associated with the oxygen sensor heater circuit
    • Replacing the powertrain control module
