P0212 Code - Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 12

What Does P0212 Mean?

• P0212 is telling us the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a fault within the cylinder 12 fuel injector circuit. This code is specifically set when either the voltage or resistance is found to be out of range.
• This code is similar to and may be seen in conjunction with P0200 - P0211, which are all fuel injector codes.
• Misfire, lean condition, and rich condition codes can be seen alongside injector issues.

What are the common causes of P0212 ?

• An air leak forward of the DPF will change the sensor readings resulting in the code
• Rusty exhaust systems, cracked exhaust manifolds or damaged or missing gaskets or donuts will cause air leaks.
• Rarely - faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM-programming required after replacement)

How do you troubleshoot P0212 ?

The valves of each cylinder are kept closed using a pair of arms that replace the conventional engine's roller-type rocker arm. P0212 code one of these arms follows the cam profile while the second arm connects to the valves. During normal engine operation the two arms are joined by a locking pin.
