What are the common causes of P0220 ?

The most common causes of code P0220 could include the following-
    • Damaged, short circuited, or corroded wiring and connectors
    • Defective TPS or pedal sensors
    • Mal-adjusted TPS sensors
    • Mechanical wear in the TPS sensor and/or throttle body
    • Carbon deposits in the throttle body that impede the movement of the throttle plate
    • While PCM failures do happen, it is a rare event and the fault must be sought elsewhere before any controller is replaced
How do you troubleshoot P0220 ?
    • Replacing the throttle position sensor
    • Replacing the accelerator pedal position sensor
    • Replacing the throttle body
    • Replacing the powertrain control module
    • Repairing or replacing wiring that is associated with the throttle’s electrical system
    • Realigning the throttle position sensor or accelerator position sensor to its correct position.
