    What Does P0227 Mean?

P0227 is a generic OBD-II code indicating that the throttle/pedal position sensor/switch C circuit has a low input problem causing the sensor input to the engine control module (ECM) to be lower than the expected voltage input compared to the redundant throttle position sensor A .

What are the common causes of P0227 ?

Possible causes of this code include a defective throttle pedal position sensor, loose, corroded, or damaged electrical connector, faulty circuit wiring, faulty or misadjusted TPS pedal position sensor, faulty throttle body, or a faulty PCM. PCM failures are rare.

How do you troubleshoot P0227 ?

Like the all engines, the car engine system employs specially developed hydraulic lifters (known as switching roller followers) for the P0227 code intake and exhaust valves. The lifters can be collapsed by disengaging an internal locking pin. The locking pin is disengaged using solenoids to alter oil pressure fed into the lifter.
