    What Does P0228 Mean?

Is the fuel pump sometimes not priming when you turn the key to ON(II)? Start by measuring the fuel pressure and checking whether you have bright white-bluish spark at all four plugs. The mechanical timing is also something that you should check, as we mentioned above. When you see P0228 engine fault code on your engine code reader this description will help you.

What are the common causes of P0228 ?
    • The ECM detects that the sensor circuit voltage is above the specified range for the sensor
    • Short 5 volt reference to the signal wire could cause low voltage to the ECM. This can be from external wiring problems, or from an internally shorted sensor
How do you troubleshoot P0228 ?

Look at the plug wires to make sure they are not burnt or laying on the exhaust. Look for missing ground strap or a rusty ground where the fuel tank is grounded to the frame. Check for damage to the wiring harness connector. Now, clear the codes and test-drive the vehicle to see if the code is reset.
