    What Does P0237 Mean?

Is the fuel pump sometimes not priming when you turn the key to ON(II)? Start by measuring the fuel pressure and checking whether you have bright white-bluish spark at all four plugs. The mechanical timing is also something that you should check. When you see P0237 engine fault code on your engine code reader this description will help you.

What are the common causes of P0237 ?
    • The turbo boost pressure sensor internally shorted to ground
    • The turbo boost pressure sensor A connector is damaged, causing a short to ground
    • The turbo boost pressure sensor A wiring is shorted to ground between the sensor and the ECM
How do you troubleshoot P0237 ?

Pack the connector cavity with dielectric silicone compound (same stuff they use for light bulb sockets and spark plug wires) and reassemble. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground.

    Process Tips

Diagnostic trouble code P0237 is not difficult to diagnose and repair. Thus, it always pays to have a qualified technician to look after your vehicle should this error code arise.

Diagnosing this code requires the engine to be in good running shape, without unmetered air entering the engine. If other codes that relates to misfiring condition, lean running or air entering the engine is present, then you must first fix those error codes before P0237.

Fortunately, P0237 is a fairly common OBD code, meaning that it applies to all makes and models of vehicles made after 1996.
