    What Does P0615 Mean?

OBD-II Code P0615 is defined as a Starter Relay Circuit

The Starter Relay controls the voltage from the battery to the starter when the ignition is in the start position. If the engine computer sees that the starter circuit is not operating properly, code P0615 will be set. The engine will not crank if there is a fault in starter circuit.

What are the common causes of P0615 ?

In choosing a single most common cause, I would have to say a faulty ignition switch. Other common causes may include a blown fuse, a bad starter relay, shorted or open circuits, a defective battery, faulty battery cables/cable ends, or a defective starter motor/solenoid.

How do you troubleshoot P0615 ?

With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. You might continue by connecting the scanner to the vehicle diagnostic connector and retrieving all stored codes and freeze frame data.
