What Does P0619 Mean?

The storage of a P0619 trouble code indicates that the alternative fuel control module random access memory/read only memory has suffered an error. While most vehicles also illuminate a Check Engine light upon storing the P0619 trouble code, some models require multiple drive cycles, up to eight, before the lamp illuminates.

What are the common causes of P0619 ?

Unlike most other PCM codes, the most likely cause of this code being stored is a defective alternative fuel control module. Other causes may include corroded, open, or shorted wiring or connectors in the CAN Bus harness, a loose control module ground strap or broken ground wire, the CAN bus may also be defective.



How do you troubleshoot P0619 ?

Look for rubbing, scraping, bare wires, worn spots or melted plastic connectors. Pull the connectors apart and carefully look at the terminals (the metal parts) inside the connectors. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. Replace the oxygen sensor that is downstream from the catalytic converter on the side of the engine that does not contain cylinder #1. Also, if a oxygen sensor code stating "heater circuit malfunction" the sensor has most probably failed.
