    What Does P0632 Mean?

    OBD-II Code P0632 is defined as a Odometer not Programmed - ECM/PCM

    When the engine computer (PCM) is replaced, certain information including vehicle mileage must be programmed to the new control module. If the required information is not manually programmed, code P0632 will be set.

    What are the common causes of P0632 ?
    • Faulty IMRC actuator relay (if equipped)
    • A large air leak at or near the number one oxygen sensor would also cause a lean mixture.
    • A plugged converter will cause of host of driveability problems as well as set this code. A severely plugged converter will result in the inability to increase rpm when under load. Look for a code such as P0421 -- catalytic converter efficiency below threshold if the converter indicating a faulty converter.


    How do you troubleshoot P0632 ?

    Like the all engines, the car engine system employs specially developed hydraulic lifters (known as switching roller followers) for the P0632 code intake and exhaust valves. The lifters can be collapsed by disengaging an internal locking pin. The locking pin is disengaged using solenoids to alter oil pressure fed into the lifter.
