    What Does P0667 Mean?

The control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly has a built-in TCM temperature sensor to detect possible overtemperature conditions of the Transmission Control Module (TCM). This fault indicates the TCM is in an overtemperature condition and the TCM has shut down to protect from possible heat damage to the TCM. TCM will remain off until the over temperature condition no longer exists.

What are the common causes of P0667 ?
    • A faulty oxygen sensor. This will set a code in itself, however, a faulty oxygen sensor does not automatically condemn the sensor. The code just means that the sensor signal was not within specifications. An air leak or any of the above will cause an erroneous signal. There is a multitude of O2 codes relating to O2 performance which gives a clue to the problematic area.
    • Some aftermarket accessories and performance modifications
    • An air leak forward of the DPF will change the sensor readings resulting in the code

How do you troubleshoot P0667 ?

The most common repairs to address the P0667 code are as follows:
    • Replace faulty wiring harness
    • Repair or replace damaged sensor circuits
    • Replace faulty powertrain control module
    • Replace faulty engine control module
    • Replace faulty transmission control module
    • Replace or rebuild vehicle transmission
    • Replace or rebuild vehicle engine
