P0699 Code - Sensor Reference Voltage 'C' Circuit High

What does P0699 Mean?

The control module has internal 5-volt reference buses called 5-volt reference . Each reference bus provided 5-volt reference circuit for more than one sensor. Therefore, a fault condition on one 5-volt reference circuit will affect the other 5-volt reference circuits connected to the reference bus. The control module monitors the voltage on the 5-volt reference buses.

The most likely causes of this code being stored are shorted or open wiring or connectors between the interfacing control modules, open or shorted wiring or connectors in the PCM input circuitry from the engine sensors, loose or disconnected ground wires to the PCM or other control modules, internal malfunctions in the PCM.



How do you troubleshoot P0699 ?

Deactivation of cylinders is achieved by releasing a synchroniser pin that normally interlocks the cam follower and rocker arms. P0699 code resolves the synchroniser pin is released using hydraulic pressure which is controlled by a dedicated solenoid.
