    What does P0754 Mean?

OBD-II Code Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a Shift Solenoid "A" Intermittent

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses Shift Solenoids to control the hydraulic pressure in the transmission which is needed to apply the various clutch packs in the transmission that provide the different gear ratios needed to efficiently propel the vehicle down the roadways. When the TCM detects a pressure control solenoid is not performing as desired, it will set code P0754.

What are the common causes of P0754 ?

Common causes include a faulty shift solenoid, hydraulic blockages inside the internal transmission fluid passages, mechanical internal transmission failures, low transmission fluid, dirty or contaminated transmission fluid, a faulty PCM or transmission control module.

How do you troubleshoot P0754 ?

The engine system, in conjuction with the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM), activates the P0754 code solenoid valve to control oil pressure to the engine mechanism that is installed in the valve system to switch valve timing between Low and High.If the engine solenoid valve has an open or short circuit, a DTC is stored.
