What does P0757 Mean?

OBD-II Code P0757 is defined as a Shift Solenoid "B" Stuck On

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses Shift Solenoids to control the hydraulic pressure in the transmission which is needed to apply the various clutch packs in the transmission that provide the different gear ratios needed to efficiently propel the vehicle down the roadways. When the TCM detects a pressure control solenoid is not performing as desired, it will set code P0757.

What are the common causes of P0757 ?

• An air leak forward of the DPF will change the sensor readings resulting in the code
• Rusty exhaust systems, cracked exhaust manifolds or damaged or missing gaskets or donuts will cause air leaks.
• Low fuel pressure caused by a clogged filter, failing fuel pump, failed fuel pressure regulator or clogged or leaking injectors.

How do you troubleshoot P0757 ?

Fortunately, fixing a P0757 code only takes one of the following:

• Replacing bad transmission fluid
• Adding more transmission fluid
• Replacing bad wiring
• Replacing the solenoid B valve
