    What does P0759 Mean?

OBD-II Code Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a Shift Solenoid "B" Intermittent

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses Shift Solenoids to control the hydraulic pressure in the transmission which is needed to apply the various clutch packs in the transmission that provide the different gear ratios needed to efficiently propel the vehicle down the roadways. When the TCM detects a pressure control solenoid is not performing as desired, it will set code P0759.

What are the common causes of P0759 ?
    • Defective ECU strategies or components will prevent proper regeneration
    • The Mass Airflow sensor is a hot wire that senses the volume of air entering the intake manifold. The computer uses this information to control fuel mixture.
    • An air leak forward of the DPF will change the sensor readings resulting in the code

How do you troubleshoot P0759 ?

The P0759 code is dealt with using these repairs:
    • The mechanic must run full diagnostics with a code reader or scanner. They will reset the codes and then perform a road test to determine if the P0759 code resets or returns.
    • When it does, a technician or mechanic must start with a transmission diagnosis. This means checking the fluid levels and gauging the conditions as well as amounts of fluid.
    • If there are signs of burnt transmission fluid, it is necessary to drop the transmission pan and look for clutch debris. When this is found, the transmission must be rebuilt, the fluid flushed and a new torque converter installed.
    • If there is no debris, it is most likely a problem in the solenoid circuitry and most mechanics will do a full internal transmission harness replacement. They should also inspect all of the wiring, replacing and repairing as needed.
