    What does P0787 Mean?

Is the fuel pump sometimes not priming when you turn the key to ON(II)? Start by measuring the fuel pressure and checking whether you have bright white-bluish spark at all four plugs. The mechanical timing is also something that you should check, as we mentioned above. When you see P0787 engine fault code on your engine code reader this description will help you.

What are the common causes of P0787 ?

A P0787 code can have a variety of causes, but the most common are:
    • Faulty shift solenoids
    • Damaged hydraulic fluid lines
    • Low or dirty transmission fluid
    • Internal transmission damage
    • Faulty transmission control module

How do you troubleshoot P0787 ?

Once located, visually inspect the connectors and wiring. Look for rubbing, scraping, bare wires, worn spots or melted plastic connectors. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. If the engine displays a miss and there wasn't a code, determine which cylinder is misfiring. If the exhaust manifold is visible, spay or pour a small amount of water on each cylinder exhaust port. Water will evaporate immediately on good cylinders and slowly on the missing cylinder. If this can't be accomplished pull the plugs and check the condition.
