    What does P0803 Mean?

The poor running symptoms are consistent with a MAP sensor malfunction. In addition, in some cases, a bad MAP sensor will not throw a code. Again, the ELD code likely represents a separate wiring issue. When you see P0803 engine fault code on your engine code reader this description will help you.

What are the common causes of P0803 ?

The skip shift control circuit is fairly simple, so there is a limited number of issues that cause this fault code to occur. These include: * A defective skip shift solenoid * A defective skip shift relay, fuse, or actuator * Connector or wiring damage or short * Installation of an aftermarket skip shift bypass (disables the upshift solenoid control circuit, allowing the driver to shift from first to fourth gear)

How do you troubleshoot P0803 ?

You might continue by connecting the scanner to the vehicle diagnostic connector and retrieving all stored codes and freeze frame data. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. Replace the oxygen sensor that is downstream from the catalytic converter on the side of the engine that does not contain cylinder #1. Also, if a oxygen sensor code stating "heater circuit malfunction" the sensor has most probably failed.
