    What does P0811 Mean?

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the Clutch Position Sensor signal. The TCM sets the OBDII code when the Clutch Position Sensor is not to factory specifications.

What are the common causes of P0811 ?

The following are some of the most common causes of the P0811 code:
    • Faulty clutch position sensor
    • Corroded, shorted, or open wiring
    • Corroded, shorted, or open electrical connectors
    • Faulty powertrain control module, although this is rare

How do you troubleshoot P0811 ?

Look for rubbing, scraping, bare wires, worn spots or melted plastic connectors. Pull the connectors apart and carefully look at the terminals (the metal parts) inside the connectors. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. Replace the oxygen sensor that is downstream from the catalytic converter on the side of the engine that does not contain cylinder #1. Also, if a oxygen sensor code stating "heater circuit malfunction" the sensor has most probably failed.
