    What does P0882 Mean?

Code P0882 stands for TCM Power Input Low

The transmission control module (TCM) is the onboard computer that governs your vehicle’s transmission. Sometimes the transmission control module is built into the powertrain control module (PCM) and other times it’s a standalone unit.

What are the common causes of P0882 ?
    • Rough running engine due to misfiring plugs. Many engines have misfire codes to indicate the cylinder effected, such as P0307 for number 7.
    • Rarely - faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM-programming required after replacement)
    • Low fuel pressure caused by a clogged filter, failing fuel pump, failed fuel pressure regulator or clogged or leaking injectors.

How do you troubleshoot P0882 ?

Like the all engines, the car engine system employs specially developed hydraulic lifters (known as switching roller followers) for the P0882 code intake and exhaust valves. The lifters can be collapsed by disengaging an internal locking pin. The locking pin is disengaged using solenoids to alter oil pressure fed into the lifter.
