    What does P0903 Mean?

The clutch actuator is operated by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and engages and disengages the clutch by the clutch master cylinder movement of the clutch actuator. An electric motor moves the clutch master cylinder, and the clutch stroke sensor, which is mounted on the clutch actuator assembly, detects the clutch master cylinder position. The TCM monitors the electrical current and clutch motor output terminal voltage, and detects malfunctions in the clutch motor circuit.

What are the common causes of P0903 ?

There are limited conditions that generally cause this code to set, including:
    • A short or open in the clutch motor circuit
    • Faulty or damaged wiring
    • A bad clutch actuator assembly
    • Loose or faulty actuator harness or connectors
    • Rarely, a bad TCM or PCM

How do you troubleshoot P0903 ?

The valves of each cylinder are kept closed using a pair of arms that replace the conventional engine's roller-type rocker arm. P0903 code one of these arms follows the cam profile while the second arm connects to the valves. During normal engine operation the two arms are joined by a locking pin.
