What are the common causes of P0913 ?

• An air leak forward of the DPF will change the sensor readings resulting in the code
• Rusty exhaust systems, cracked exhaust manifolds or damaged or missing gaskets or donuts will cause air leaks.

How do you troubleshoot P0913 ?

To fix a P0913 trouble code, a mechanic should do the following:

• Replace any damaged or faulty wiring, connectors, or components.
• Replace the gate select actuator circuit if it is faulty.
• Replace the gate select actuator switch if it is faulty.
• Replace any blow fuses. The mechanic should also determine what caused the fuse to blow to prevent the fuse blowing in the future.
• Replace the PCM if it is bad. PCM replacement also requires reprogramming by the mechanic.
